This cosmetic dermatology workshop will review benign skin lesions, tanning and artificial tanners, and the cosmetic treatment options available. Popular topical and injectable skin care treatments such as lasers, skin peels, botox injections, and fillers such as restylane will be discussed.

Crawl before you walk! This fun filled course is for a beginner or a student who wants to learn basic suturing techniques. We will review sterile procedures, share tricks of the trade that will allow you to have the basic skills necessary to do cutaneous suturing and demonstrate the details needed to perform this properly.

W4 – Extremity Splinting for the Emergency Room and Clinical Setting

This workshop is a hands-on experience which can help you in numerous situations involving extremity injuries. Opening with an understanding of the basics of stabilization, this course helps you identify the simple and reproducible techniques which allow for safe transport of patients with extremity injuries. Included in the session are demonstrations of volar splints, thumb gutter splints, ulnar gutter splints, sugar-tong splints, posterior splints and three sided short leg splints. Dress for comfort (shorts are good for leg splint application) because interaction as both patient and provider is highly encouraged to get the most out of the session. To know how it feels is to understand! Come for fun, leave with knowledge.
 
W5 – Ultrasound in Modern Obstetrics**

This workshop will utilize several interactive, multimedia programs to present both heart sounds and lung sounds. This session is presented as a skills development session, to help increase your skill with a stethoscope. Sandy Reilly of 3M Healthcare, along with an MD partner, will present this exciting program to develop your auscultation skills and test practitioners at all levels. The session utilizes some building software to demonstrate both normal and abnormal cardiac situations and review many frequently heard lung sounds.
 

W7 – Advanced Minor Surgery

Walk before you run! This exciting course will explore more advanced techniques of wound closure such as absorbable sub-cuticlar (just like in plastic surgery). We will also cover biopsy techniques such as shave, punch, and elliptical. The use of cautery and cryotherapy will also be covered. Participants must be proficient in basic suturing (which should include clinical basic suturing experience) to attend this workshop.
 

W8 - Hot Topics In Sports Medicine and Physical Examination Skills Clinic

This workshop will provide the assessment tools needed to diagnose and treat common musculoskeletal conditions seen in sports medicine. Specific focus will be on the active athlete/patient population in the outpatient setting. Current issues in the field of Sports Medicine will be discussed. Participants will have the opportunity for hands-on practice.
 

W9 – Disaster Preparedness

This comprehensive workshop explores the multi system response triggered by a local or regional disaster situation. Practical information covering personal and family preparation; the community disaster response system; and the role of clinician in the hospital/clinic during a disaster situation will be discussed.
 

W10 – Clinical Practice Challenges: Female Sexual Dysfunction, Testosterone Replacement for Women with Low Libido and The Work Up of Pelvic Pain**

Does the fear of having to engage in small talk with strangers cripple your ability to take advantage of social events such as mixers and networking events? This workshop will give you specific strategies to give you confidence in these social situations from the minute you walk in the door until you pick up your coat on the way out. Hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be served, and 1 BRN CEU will be given for this workshop.
